Home Fire Inferno

Format:
ebook & Audiobook

While the ebook, esp bundled with related novellas, is a good deal – the list price for an hour long audio is a lot. I did snag a Chirp deal that made it worth it.

Publisher’s Synopsis:
Navy SEAL Dan Gillman’s wife, Jenn, goes into early labor while stranded in the California desert, as he and most of Team Sixteen are mission ready, overseas. Meanwhile, left behind with a recent knee injury and faced with impending surgery and rehab, Chief Jay Lopez decides that the timing might be exactly right for a romantic interlude with a pretty fifth grade teacher . . . High jinks definitely ensue.

Point of view:
3rd person. Alternating perspectives by multiple characters. Always clearly defined.

Rellim’s Thoughts:
Note: Home Fire Inferno is the second of a trilogy of Troubleshooters shorts and novellas that starts with Free Fall. Additionally, these are probably best read after Into the Fire, Hot Pursuit, & Breaking the Rules (which are the main books for Izzy & Eden and Danny & Jen).

This is a very short story. Audio is an hour long. Can’t share much without spoilers. A little OTT in terms of all that happens to get Jenn to the hospital, but a lot of fun and cute catch up on the Gillman/Zanella gang.

Set not long after this, Ready to Roll is a longer Novella and a lot of fun.

Narration:
Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank are perfect as always.

About the author:
After childhood plans to become the captain of a starship didn’t pan out, Suzanne Brockmann took her fascination with military history, her respect for the men and women who serve, her reverence for diversity, and her love of storytelling, and explored brave new worlds as a bestselling romance author. Over the past twenty-five years she has written more than fifty-five novels, including her award-winning Troubleshooters series about Navy SEAL heroes and the women—and sometimes men—who win their hearts.
