Who would want to live a life that was easy to part with.

His Surrogate Omega
Format:
Audiobook
Publisher’s Synopsis:
Omega Gray Tomlinson is positive he’ll remain unmated for the rest of his life. By his mid-thirties, he remains unclaimed and without prospects, and lives confined to the Omega Quadrant, where he’s sure he’ll end up dying alone.
When his older brother, Silver, and Silver’s alpha die in a tragic accident, Gray’s nephews come to live in his little sequestered world. Without an alpha, he knows he has little means to help support the boys. The only choice he can stomach is to offer his services as a surrogate.
The minute Gray meets Jamie, the infertile omega who so desperately wants a child, he senses a bond like none he’s ever felt before. It’s brotherly love at first sight, and Gray decides Jamie is the one, agreeing to carry his and his alpha, Rohan’s, child.
But when circumstances change, Gray is faced with new challenges, a new love interest, and a battle for the very life that grew inside him. And maybe there’s an alpha out there for him after all…
Rellim’s Thoughts:
While winners of giveaways are under no obligation to review – when I enter contests, I do so because I’m interested in the audiobook and genuinely want to listen and review. However, not long after I won a copy, the reviews started pouring in about how this book was super emotional. And I just wasn’t in a place to listen to that level of angst, so it sat on my TBL for several months.
I’m so glad that I waited. Also – have a box, perhaps a CASE of tissue close by, because this was absolutely heartbreaking. At 13 hours, this is a fairly long audiobook and super slow burn. I cannot believe what a thorough job of world building and character development Kelex did while still keeping the listener completely engaged. I did NOT want to take a break and finished this in one weekend.
There is no way not to fall completely in love with Gray, Rohan, and Jaime. To feel completely gutted by the untenable positions they are all in while they try to do right by each other. My only small wish would be that I felt Gray deserved a little more time/effort/romance from Rohan before their HEA. We, as the reader/listener know what Rohan’s true feelings have been and for how long, but Gray did not. This tiny complaint was not enough to downgrade this from being an absolutely fantastic listen.
Narration:
I cannot fathom anyone except John Solo narrating this book. He does an amazing job of expressing strong emotions and really bringing the listener into the world that Kelex has created.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author in Facebook group giveaway and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
