His Bride for the Taking
Format:
ebook
Publisher’s Synopsis:
It’s the first rule of friendship among gentlemen: Don’t even think about touching your best friend’s sister.
Sebastian, Lord Byrne, has never been one for rules. He’s thought about touching Mary Clayton—a lot—and struggled to resist temptation. But when Mary’s bridegroom leaves her waiting the altar, only Sebastian can save her from ruin. By marrying her himself.
In eleven years, he’s never laid a finger on his best friend’s sister. Now he’s going to take her with both hands. To have, to hold…and to love.
Point of view:
3rd person. Alternating between Sebastian & Mary’s perspectives.
Rellim’s Thoughts:
This was an absolutely delightful stand alone novella. I admit that one of my favorite tropes is Brother’s Best Friend/Best Friend’s Sister. I just love when someone you have grown up knowing becomes more.
Sebastian and Mary were such a fun couple. They’ve both been harboring unrequited love for the other but felt they couldn’t do anything about it. While circumstances drive them together … neither is disappointed. This makes for a lot of fun banter and sexy time on their unconventional honeymoon. Dare has a great sense of humor and this such an easy read.
About the author:
Tessa Dare is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than twenty historical romances.
Mixing wit, sensuality, and emotion, Tessa writes Regency-set romance novels that feel relatable to modern readers. With her bestselling “Spindle Cove”, “Castles Ever After”, and “Girl Meets Duke” series, she has had great fun creating heroines who defy the conventions of their time—engaging in “unladylike” pursuits that range from paleontology to beer-making—and dreaming up the strong-willed, sexy heroes who find their hearts ensnared by them.
A librarian by training and a booklover at heart, Tessa makes her home in Southern California, where she lives with her husband, their two children, and a trio of cosmic kitties.
