Rellim’s Thoughts:
This is book 2 in the Sons of Valor series and part of the Tier One Shared World by Andrews & Wilson. While most of this stands on its own – I’d definitely recommend listening to Sons of Valor first for some additional background on the characters and team formation.
Chunk, Watts, Riker, Saw, and Yi are back!!! Another enjoyable action packed military thriller from Andrews & Wilson. I continue to enjoy their mix of relatable characters, humor, operations, politics, mystery, & suspense. None of the individuals are perfect or superheroes – but as a team they are nearly unstoppable. I love that Andrews & Wilson offer various perspectives, even the antagonists, and I enjoy getting to know each character so thoroughly.
I appreciate the way multiple storylines, engaging on their own, culminate into a huge final event. Or two. There’s definitely some threats still surviving, so there’s more to come.
Narration:
Ray Porter is talented at bringing all these personalities to life as well as enhancing all the emotions that Andrews & Wilson layer in. I feel myself experiencing anticipation, humor, frustration, anger, and fear along with the team. I love listening to these books over and over.
About the authors:
Brian Andrews is a US Navy veteran, Park Leadership Fellow, and former submarine officer with a psychology degree from Vanderbilt and a masters in business from Cornell University. He is the author of three critically acclaimed high-tech thrillers: Reset, The Infiltration Game, and The Calypso Directive.
Jeffrey Wilson has worked as an actor, firefighter, paramedic, jet pilot, and diving instructor, as well as a vascular and trauma surgeon. He served in the US Navy for fourteen years and made multiple deployments as a combat surgeon with an East Coast–based SEAL Team. The author of three award-winning supernatural thrillers, The Traiteur’s Ring, The Donors, and Fade to Black, and the acclaimed faith-based thriller War Torn.
