Willow’s Windfall

Mark didn’t believe in ghosts, but he might just start to believe in angels.

Willow’s Windfall

Note: While I’m reviewing each title individually, they’re available in box sets.

Publisher’s Synopsis:
She’s a medium. He’s a skeptic. A hidden treasure leads them on a dangerous adventure.

Willow Nightingale helps ghosts cross into the spirit world. When she accepts the task to rid Mark Stryker of the ghost haunting his house, she discovers a lingering ghost who is linked to a three-hundred-year-old pirate treasure.

Mark Stryker doesn’t have time for ghostly encounters or spirits interfering with his real estate business. He reluctantly hires ghost whisperer Willow Nightingale in hopes she can somehow wave a wand and declare his property no longer haunted. But strange events lead Mark to trust Willow enough to take an excursion to try to find a long lost pirate treasure.

When Willow and Mark race to find the chest, they discover they aren’t the only ones after it. They must rely on each other and the ghost of a pirate if they’re going to survive.

Point of view:
3rd person. Alternating between Mark & Willow’s perspectives.

Rellim’s Thoughts:
This is book 2 in CB Samet’s Romancing the Spirit series. Books 1-6 have been combined into a box set (ebook & audio). These are short, closed door, paranormal romantic suspense novellas. While there’s a single mention of an MC from book 1, each stands alone and either could be read first.

Mark needs to get a ghost out of a house he’s flipping and hires Willow to communicate with the spirit. I loved the evolution of the relationship between these two as well as the treasure hunting adventure a ghost pirate send them on. For such a short story, Samet develops a lovely romance balanced with suspense. These may be easy to read – but it doesn’t mean they’re lacking in any way.

About the author:
Christina is four-time award winning author in thriller, romantic suspense, and fantasy.

She is a mother of two energetic boys and a Jack Russel Terrier. She is a lover of suspense, adventure, and happy endings. She is currently writing the fifth and final installation of the Avant Champion epic fantasy series, and an new urban fantasy trilogy. The Rider Files books 1-4 are complete, but she’s mapping out books 5-8. She writes action and adventure in fantasy and romantic suspense genres with strong female leads.

“I grew up reading Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, and the Bourne books. I write seeking to create that level of action and intrigue but with female heroines. I love the quote, ‘She needed a hero. So she became one.’ My novels have empowered women overcoming powerful obstacles and the strong men who support them.”
