This is book 3 in CB Samet’s Romancing the Spirit series. Books 1-6 have been combined into a box set (ebook & audio). These are short, closed door, paranormal romantic suspense novellas. This has no overlap with the first two books and can be read on its own.
Neurosurgeon Cassie sees the ghost of a teen boy who has been looking out for her since she was a young child. Single dad and attorney Reed is in-house counsel for the hospital she works at. Reed’s work uncovers falsified records which put his life in danger. Cassie works to help him catch the culprit along with her spirit friend.
While I happened to see the twist coming, I still enjoyed the mystery/suspense aspect of the story. Cassie & Reed’s romance is sweet and all the lawyer jokes are a fun addition.
