When her eyes creep open in the morning and meet mine, and her face lights up with a smile, I decide actually this is better than making love.

Publisher’s Synopsis:
Irresponsible. Impulsive. Reckless. I’ve has heard it all from my family and I’m getting a little sick of it. I’m a smart guy, after all. In a family of brainy engineers, someone has to be the fun one, but the other Bradys don’t see it that way. To get a break from my family, I decide to move out and answer an online ad for a roommate.
What could go wrong?
For starters, my roommate turns out to be…not a dude. A smoking hot finance chick. But this is fine. We can be friends who live together. I just need to ignore the simmering lust that clouds my vision.
Point of view:
1st person. Alternating chapters between Cal & Logan’s perspective.
Rellim’s Thoughts:
This is book 4 in the Brady Family series by Lainey Davis. While you can enjoy this on its own, I think it’s best enjoyed after the previous books.
I have to admit, I was a little worried that Davis wouldn’t be able to redeem the affable but rudderless and seemingly self-centered Cal. I shouldn’t have been though. Between realizing he was often misunderstood and the way he matures over the rest of the book – I ended up loving him. I like how he and Logan were opposites who smoothed out each other’s prickly edges.
The accidental roommate setup was a lot of fun and these two navigating a tricky situation made for tons of laughs.
I’m ready for Orla’s book, Current.
Narration:
Carly Robbins & Tom Taylorson continue to be a blast to listen to – it’s so much fun as they bring Davis’s characters to life. Logan and Cal are such distinct characters and they both did a terrific job.
About the author:
Lainey Davis lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, her feral sons, and rescued rabbits. She writes steamy, contemporary love stories with grouchy heroes, strong heroines, and plenty of fiascos. She’s excited to find out how much coffee is too much.
